You may have noticed that we are no longer open on Sundays. We have extended our opening hours Monday to Saturday but we are closed on Sundays. There is however a method to our madness as it now means that you, our lovely customers can have us all to yourselves. Closing the tea shop on a Sunday has given us the opportunity to make our beautiful venue available for exclusive hire all day.
This has proved an amazing success so far and we are booked up every Sunday between now and Christmas with an array of celebrations. We have 40th birthdays, 70th birthdays, baby showers, hen parties and recently we had a beautiful wedding reception. We can cater for any occasion whether it be traditional afternoon tea or a more relaxed buffet and of course don’t forget we have a license to sell alcohol so we can help your celebrations kick off in style with a welcome drink served in our beautiful vintage Babycham glasses.
If you are looking for a venue to hold a party and fancy letting us do the work whilst you enjoy, just give us a call on 02393 070760 and ask for Emma our Functions co-ordinator and she will be happy to discuss your requirements.

The Tea Party will close earlier than usual at 3pm this Saturday 29th August, but for very good reason!
Our beautiful tea room is hosting a wedding reception, so we are shutting to give us the opportunity to make our venue even more beautiful than usual for the wedding. The bride and groom are regulars at The Tea Party so we were the perfect choice for their intimate wedding reception. We will re-open a little later on Sunday 30th August at 11.45am to give us a chance to get the tea room back to normal.
This will be the second wedding reception we have had on our premises since we opened, although we are no stranger to weddings. We have travelled to lots of beautiful and unusual venues to supply our beautiful afternoon tea and vintage crockery. We have catered in old barns, theatre’s, Explosion museum and of course the quintessentially British marquee in the setting of a stately home. We take great pride in our work and pay very close attention to detail, working closely with other suppliers to ensure that everything is perfect and runs smoothly.
If you would like to add some vintage charm to your wedding, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss your big day with you and help make your dream a reality.

As the country marked the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings, Lee on the Solent was no exception with the traders of the High Street entering in to the spirit of the occasion to mark this historic day. Up and down Lee High Street the traders gone all out to dress the shop windows and the business association ran a competition for best dressed window.
The Tea Party was central to the buzz that filled the High Street, all the staff swapped the usual glamourous vintage dresses in favour of landgirl girl attire. All in the Swing – a local swing duo came along and provided fitting entertainment outside that shop and had customers dancing in the street. Joining in the fun was a local group of swing dancers in vintage dress who enthralled the crowds with their energetic dancing.
Outside The Tea Party shops were lined in street party style and customers for 8 to 80 years were sat enjoying an afternoon tea in the sunshine soaking up the atmosphere. The day was rounded off by a fly past over the Solent, of a Dakota and Spitfire.
A fitting end to a fabulous day!
